What should I avoid while taking ranitidine? There are no restrictions on food, beverages, or activity while takingranitidine, unless otherwise directed by your doctor ranitidine.
What are the possible side effects of ranitidine? If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop takingranitidine and call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical treatment: · an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat;swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives); · easy or unusual bruising or bleeding; · bleeding gums; · irregular heartbeat; or · yellowing of the skin or eyes ranitidine. Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur ranitidine. Continueto take ranitidine and talk to your doctor if you experience · dizziness; · headache; or · diarrhea, nausea, or constipation ranitidine. Side effects other than those listed here may also occur ranitidine. Talk to yourdoctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome ranitidine.
What other drugs will affect ranitidine? Do not take antacids within 1 hour of taking ranitidine ranitidine. Antacids maydecrease the effectiveness of ranitidine ranitidine. Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you are taking anyof the following medicines: · triazolam (Halcion); or · the anticoagulant (blood thinner) such as warfarin (Coumadin) ranitidine. You may not be able to take ranitidine, or you may require a dosage adjustmentor special monitoring during treatment if you are taking either of the medicineslisted above ranitidine. Ranitidine may affect the actions of other medications by changing theacidity of the stomach ranitidine.
